Job Summary
The Equipment Specialist is a technically skilled professional responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of equipment commonly used in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. This role involves both hands-on technical work and administrative responsibilities, such as work planning, effective communication, and accurate documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) using software systems.
Primary Responsibilities:

Apply prior experience and technical knowledge to complete assigned tasks effectively.

Work on semi-routine assignments with the ability to identify when deviations from standard procedures are necessary.

Provide mechanical and technical support for both GMP and non-GMP utility systems.

Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on various equipment and systems.

Execute work orders and document all activities in SAP, ensuring compliance with GDP standards.

Support daily site operations related to equipment and system functionality.

Conduct maintenance, repairs, and calibration of manufacturing, QC, and R&D laboratory equipment.

Ensure calibration, traceability and compliance with internal procedures and cGMP standards.

Respond to emergency alarms and be available for on-call duties as scheduled, addressing and resolving issues on-site.

Assist with other maintenance functions as required.

Maintain respectful and professional interactions with internal customers.

Continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

A minimum of 4 years of experience in maintenance, calibration, or engineering roles.

Proficient in:
-
Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on process/mechanical equipment
-
Laboratory support equipment maintenance
-
Metrology and calibration practices
-
Comfortable working with computer systems for documentation, communication, and automation control (e.g., Word, Excel, email, maintenance software).

Prior experience in a cGMP-regulated environment is highly preferred.

Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize workload effectively.

Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service excellence.
