Job Summary

The Equipment Specialist is a technically skilled professional responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of equipment commonly used in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industries. This role involves both hands-on technical work and administrative responsibilities, such as work planning, effective communication, and accurate documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) using software systems. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Apply prior experience and technical knowledge to complete assigned tasks effectively. 

• Work on semi-routine assignments with the ability to identify when deviations from standard procedures are necessary. 

• Provide mechanical and technical support for both GMP and non-GMP utility systems. 

• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on various equipment and systems. 

• Execute work orders and document all activities in SAP, ensuring compliance with GDP standards. 

• Support daily site operations related to equipment and system functionality. 

• Conduct maintenance, repairs, and calibration of manufacturing, QC, and R&D laboratory equipment. 

• Ensure calibration, traceability and compliance with internal procedures and cGMP standards. 

• Respond to emergency alarms and be available for on-call duties as scheduled, addressing and resolving issues on-site. 

• Assist with other maintenance functions as required. 

• Maintain respectful and professional interactions with internal customers. 

• Continuously seek opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. 

 Education & Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. 

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in maintenance, calibration, or engineering roles. 

• Proficient in: 

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on process/mechanical equipment 

• Laboratory support equipment maintenance 

• Metrology and calibration practices 

• Comfortable working with computer systems for documentation, communication, and automation control (e.g., Word, Excel, email, maintenance software). 

• Prior experience in a cGMP-regulated environment is highly preferred. 

• Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize workload effectively. 

• Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service excellence.
