Job Purpose:
To Manage & Lead General Safety in API manufacturing plant.
Educational Qualification:
B.E/B. Tech in chemical engineering and Diploma in industrial safety from reputed institute.
Experience:
Minimum 7 to 9 years.
Technical skills:
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to safety practices and procedures across all operations.
- Contribute to the development of safety systems and practices that align with company integrity, Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) standards.
- Promote a corporate culture focused on environment, health, and safety (EHS) in all areas of the workplace.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, ensuring that all team members always follow EHS requirements.
- Assist in developing and ensuring timely completion of mandatory safety training for employees, including regulatory, procedural, and data integrity training.
- Uphold Syngene’s quality and safety standards in all operations and activities across the site.
- Ensure that employees and teams are held accountable for achieving safety objectives and targets.
- Periodically review and track safety metrics, reporting findings to leadership and management.
- Participate in the development and management of the Emergency Management System (EMS) across the site.
- Assist in Contractor Safety Management, ensuring contractors comply with site safety protocols and regulations.
- Participate in the coordination of Site Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities, ensuring ERT members are adequately trained and prepared.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and practical demonstrations for employees on emergency response, fire safety, and disaster management.
- Ensure safe operations by conducting regular safety audits and inspections, focusing on compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Review and update the Site Emergency Response Plan (ERP) regularly, incorporating changes from internal audits, process updates, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in conducting incident investigations and develop Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and ensure the proper functioning and compliance of emergency equipment (e.g., fire detection and protection systems, eyewash stations, emergency showers, first-aid kits) across the site.
- Ensure emergency drills (evacuation and mock drills) are conducted regularly, and action items are followed up on.
- Facilitate internal audits and inspections related to Work Permit Systems (PTW) to ensure adherence to safety protocols and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in identifying unsafe conditions and behaviors in the workplace, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
- Promote and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout the site.
- Provide ongoing training and awareness on EHS matters to all levels of staff.
- Ensure the safe operation of critical equipment and processes, advising and supporting teams in implementing safety measures.
- Support the Incident Controller and Shift Safety Officers in the event of emergencies, assisting with coordination and incident response.
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure a consistent and high standard of EHS practices across various operational areas.
- Engage employees in safety campaigns, competitions, and initiatives that foster a culture of safety and awareness throughout the site.
- Develop and update operating procedures and guidelines as per safety regulations, ensuring they reflect current operational practices.
- Monitor compliance of fire hydrant systems and ensure fire hydrant operators are trained and available during shift operations.
- Assist in the deployment and follow-up of KAVACH initiatives, enhancing the site’s safety management systems.
- Support and promote the safety of warehouse and production operations, offering guidance, training, and support where required.
