Job Overview:

The SFC Analyst is responsible for the purification, separation, and analysis of compounds using SFC techniques. This role involves working with various types of samples, including pharmaceutical, biochemical, and organic compounds, to ensure their purity and quality. The analyst operates SFC systems, analyses results, and supports R&D teams by providing purified materials for further analysis or use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning of purifications based on available columns and systems
  • Operate and maintain SFC systems to separate and purify compounds from complex mixtures according to laboratory protocols.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate SFC methods for the purification of targeted compounds, adjusting parameters such as solvent gradients, flow rates, and detection methods.
  • Prepare samples for SFC analysis, including weighing, diluting, and filtering samples. Ensure that proper techniques are followed to maintain the integrity of the samples.
  • Analyze chromatograms, identify peaks, and determine the purity and yield of separated compounds. Provide detailed reports and documentation of purification results.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of SFC equipment to ensure consistent and accurate operation.
  • Maintain inventory of solvents, reagents, and consumables used in SFC processes. Ensure that all supplies are stocked and ordered as needed.
  • Work closely with chemists, to understand purification requirements and provide purified materials for further research, testing, or production.
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines for handling chemicals and hazardous materials. Maintain accurate records for regulatory and quality control audits.
  • Keep detailed and accurate logs of all experiments, including method development, sample preparation, and purification results.
  • Required hands of experience in HPLC, LCMS and NMR to evaluate the compounds.
