Job Purpose: To oversee and manage the EAM activities in Engineering and maintenance for Manufacturing and development facilities Syngene’ s Hyderabad operations.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Overall adherence to safe practices and procedures of oneself and the teams aligned
  • Contributing to development of procedures, practices and systems that ensures safe operations and compliance to company’s integrity & quality standards
  • Driving a corporate culture that promotes environment, health, and safety (EHS) mindset and operational discipline at the workplace always.
  • Ensuring safety of self, teams, and lab/plant by adhering to safety protocols and following environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements always in the workplace.
  • Ensure all assigned mandatory trainings related to data integrity, health, and safety measures are completed on time by all members of the team including self
  • Compliance to Syngene’ s quality standards at all times
  • Hold self and their teams accountable for the achievement of safety goals
  • Govern and Review safety metrics from time to time
  • Leading engineering and maintenance team for Facility, Utility areas and Projects related to Discovery Chemistry
  • Accountable for engineering deliverables which includes upkeep and continuous improvements related to facilities, utilities, electrical, equipment’s and instrumentation for Discovery Operating unit at all locations.
  • Ensure Sop’s, Validation protocols, Preventive Maintenance and calibration schedules are followed for facility equipment’s, premises, utility, and electrical installations by engineering team as per QMS.
  • Responsible to manage and motivate team of engineers by setting clear objectives and deliver maintenance SLA’s with highest level of safety and quality.
  • Ensure compliance of regulatory & statutory requirements related to Engineering.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly MIS and Opex & Capex budget related to facilities & utilities of engineering department.
  • Ensure successful audits & client visits related to Engineering.
  • Vendor development and coordinating with Strategic Sourcing team for proper selection of materials.
  • Reviewing and analyzing daily energy reports of utilities and power and optimization of its cost of operations through lean six sigma practices.
  • Ensure safety standards are developed and followed by engineering team for achieving zero incidents.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing Asset Integrity and Reliability – PSM standards in manufacturing areas of all locations.
  • Coordinating with HR for proper selection of manpower, recruitment, and appraisal system of engineering personnel.
  • Responsible for developing good engineering practices & adopting cost effective purchase practices of all capex items & engineering spares.
  • Approval of purchase orders pertaining to major equipment’s, spares, and other consumables.
  • Responsible for overall asset management from installation of asset, its maintenance to meet industry best standards of equipment effectiveness, to its retirement through Enterprise Asset Management and SAP plant maintenance module.
  • Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices
  • Educational Qualification:  
  • BE/BTech/Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering.

 

Technical/functional Skills:

  • Comfortable with Data analysis using MS Excel
  • Commendable knowledge in Clean utilities and design of MEP
  • Commendable knowledge in cleanroom and Biosafety levels.
  • Comfortable with Presentations using MS power point. 
  • Good knowledge on Pharma/Biotech industry environment.
  • Knowledge of Engineering maintenance, Project management, Bioprocess operations will be plus.
  • Possess the knowledge and exposure to EHSS practices.

 

 

Experience:

  • Overall 12-17 years of industry experience out of which 10 years of relevant manufacturing facility construction and management experience required.
