Core Purpose of the Role:

  • Manage day-to-day IT operations including infrastructure, applications, and user support in regulated environments.
  • Implement and maintain ITIL-based processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Configuration management).
  • Assess and manage IT vendors and SaaS providers for compliance
  • Good working knowledge in LIMS, ELN, Chromatography systems (CDS), SDMS
  • Implement and support AI-assisted solutions for automated anomaly detection in analytical and experimental datasets (e.g., spectroscopy, chromatography), enhancing proactive data integrity controls (ALCOA+) in discovery workflows.
  • Support deployment and integration of AI/ML-based discovery chemistry tools (e.g., molecular modelling, reaction prediction, cheminformatics platforms) with LIMS/ELN systems, ensuring data traceability, GxP alignment, and secure data pipelines
  • Leverage AI tools for automated metadata tagging, smart search, and classification of high-volume chemistry datasets, improving data discoverability, archival efficiency, and backup optimization.

 

Role Accountabilities

  • Act as system administrator for Operating Systems (OS) and instrument/equipment-integrated applications within Discovery & Development lab environments, ensuring effective system administration, troubleshooting, and backup/restore management.
  • Identify critical data from instrument-connected applications in Discovery labs, schedule backups using enterprise backup tools (e.g., Commvault), and maintain backup inventories in line with SOP requirements.
  • Perform and monitor scheduled and on-demand data backups, ensuring proper maintenance of backup media and accurate logging of all backup activities as per SOPs.
  • Execute data restoration activities based on user requests or periodic validation, verify restored data in collaboration with users, and maintain detailed logs in compliance with SOP guidelines.
  • Manage application administration activities, including system configuration, implementation of security policies, role-based access control, and user lifecycle management (creation, modification, enable/disable, lock/unlock), ensuring all activities are logged as per SOP requirements for lab systems.
  • Handle IT incidents related to GxP systems by logging, tracking, and driving them to closure within defined SLAs.
  • Support change control processes by documenting changes, ensuring appropriate approvals, and coordinating testing in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in computer system validation (CSV) activities, including preparation of validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and execution of test scripts.
  • Support periodic system reviews and maintain validation lifecycle documentation in alignment with compliance standards.

Specific requirements for this role

  • Minimum 5-7 years of IT Support working experience in CRO/ Pharmaceutical / Life Science / Health Care Industry
  • B.E. / B. Tech / MCA / BCA / MSc IT / BSc IT /Etc.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Hands on experience on QC / R&D and Pharma instruments application like KF-Auto Titrator spectrophotometer, LC/MS, HPLCs, GCs, NMR, FT-IR, Ph-Meter etc.
  • Hands on experience on User Management Activities (User Creation / Modification / Deactivation / Password Reset) and Support in Audit Trail Review.
  • Hands on experience on Data Management Activities (Backup, Restoration and Archival) of Instrument connected application.
  • Hands on experience on Compliance Activities (Change Control, Deviation and CAPA etc.)
  • Hands on experience on Informatics Application and Lab Computing support, troubleshooting and vendor coordination.
  • Candidate should be well versed with Standard Operating Procedure keeping regulatory compliance audits.
  • Should have strong understanding for 21CFR part 11 specially data integrity and compliance.
  • Understanding of AI model lifecycle management, including model validation, version control, auditability, and compliance in regulated environments, ensuring transparency and reproducibility of AI-driven outputs.
  • Ability to implement AI-powered automation for incident triaging, system monitoring, alert correlation, and workflow optimization, enhancing operational efficiency in lab IT environments
