Job Title: EHSS Specialist  

Job Location: Syngene scientific solutions limited, Hyderabad

  • Hold self and their teams accountable for the achievement of safety goals

Govern and Review safety metrics from time to time

 

 

Core Purpose of the Role:

 

  1. Maintain and Review ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 documentation and update regularly
  2. Coordinate with third-party vendors to conduct scrubber monitoring and collect environmental monitoring reports from the builder on a monthly basis
  3. Coordinate & monitor with the landlord for smooth operation of the wastewater treatment facility
  4. Support the EHSS lead and strategic source in the selection of vendors for waste disposal as per CFO
  5. Schedule and conduct waste disposal facility audits and coordinate to upload the audit reports in the CAPA tracker
  6. Support to the EHSS lead in preparation of monthly reports like KAVACH, EHSS performance, COO report, safety committee meeting etc..,
  7. Act as training coordinator for EHSS department at SSSL
  8. Review and upload the legal compliance documents in synpliance tool
  9. Update legal requirements as per amendments shared by Enviro Trends
  10. Evaluate SOPs for gap assessment as per the site applicability, responsible for complying with the checklists assigned
  11. Review and approve the assigned Lab Hazard analysis from respective users and evaluate mitigation measures
  12. Actively participate in GEMBA walks as per the schedule
  13. Support the EHSS lead in preparation of CAPEX and OPEX budget
  14. Coordinate and process GRN for the service invoices related to EHSS
  15. Coordinate with finance, engineering, and strategic sourcing departments for budget loading into respective WBSE code
  16. Coordinate with cross-functional team and collect data for ESG and share with the corporate team on monthly basis
  17. Prepare all the legal forms related to EHSS within the stipulated time to the respective authorities
  18. Develop the quenching procedure/ protocols with the support of DC operations

 

Role Accountabilities

  1. To monitor environmental compliance and update in synpliance tool
  2. Uphold ISO documents for the site
  3. To ensure timely disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from the site
  4. To update monthly MRM, Safety committee meeting, KAVACH and MSI reports.
  5. Drive organization ESG goal and management programs
  6. Contribute to preparation of OPEX and Capex budget
  7. Review LHA (Lab Hazard Analysis) and evaluate mitigation measures
  8. To support cross functional team for incident investigation and environmental aspects and operations KPI’s.

Specific requirements for this role

 

Experience

 

13-15 years’ experience in laboratory & bulk pharma industry

Good knowledge of Environment & Legal compliance

Have good experience in ESG & ISO documentation

Skills and Capabilities

Expertise in handling multiple expression platforms

Capable of thinking scientifically to address complex problems and develop solutions

Work as a team and have collaborative mindset

Good communication skills

 

Education

 

M.Sc in Organic chemistry/Biology / B. Tech Environmental/Chemical Engineering
