Job Purpose: Experienced in the Safety department for API Pharmaceutical Manufacturing plant.

 

Educational Qualification:  B.E./B. Tech in Chemical or Fire Engineering, and a Diploma in Industrial Safety from a reputed institute.

 

Technical skills:

  • Responsible for managing and strengthening the site’s Emergency Management System in alignment with Syngene’s EHSS standards and statutory requirements.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT), ensuring competency, readiness, and effective response during emergencies.
  • Maintain, review, and upgrade the Onsite Emergency Response Plan (OERP) based on process changes, audit observations, and legal updates.
  • Coordinate and lead emergency response operations, supporting the Incident Controller during incidents.
  • Conduct Emergency and Disaster Management training sessions and lead EHSS classroom training for employees.
  • Organize and deliver hands‑on firefighting demonstrations, equipment training, and scenario-based exercises for ERT and employees.
  • Plan, execute, and document mock drills and evacuation drills, ensuring follow-up and closure of all action items.
  • Ensure operational readiness and compliance of all emergency equipment including fire detection and protection systems, fire hydrants, pump house, eye wash stations, and emergency cupboards.
  • Update and maintain SOPs and guidelines related to emergency equipment and emergency management processes.
  • Issue, review, and monitor Work Permits for non-routine activities, ensuring strict compliance with PTW requirements.
  • Participate in PTW system audits and drive improvements in compliance and safety practices.
  • Monitor critical activities in Production and Warehouse areas, providing guidance on safe operations and intervening when necessary.
  • Identify unsafe acts and conditions, ensure timely reporting of incidents and near misses, and support incident investigations and CAPA implementation.
  • Conduct periodic gap analyses of the emergency management system and implement improvement actions.
  • Support site-level EHSS initiatives such as KAVACH and other corporate safety programs.
  • Deliver PEP Talks, Toolbox Talks, and awareness sessions to strengthen safety culture during all shift operations.
  • Ensure ERT and Fire Hydrant Operator availability across all shifts and coordinate manpower effectively.
  • Organize safety campaigns, competitions, and engagement programs to enhance employee involvement in emergency preparedness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance emergency readiness, safety performance, and overall risk management at the site.
