Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintenance of Cell culture, Storage of cells,
  • Independently perform experiments for protein expression-Transient transfections, Stable cell line generation, Insect cell expression, Expression in E. coli
  • Perform small scale purifications of affinity tag proteins.
  • Perform analysis of proteins by SDS-PAGE, Western Blot.
  • Troubleshoot issues with protein expression and purification.
  • Regularly prepare detailed records of experiments, reports.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
  • Help other team members in their work.
  • Contribute to general lab cleanliness, equipment maintenance, Consumable ordering and safety.

 

Educational Qualification:  

 

  • MSc (Biochemistry, Biotechnology or any other relevant Biological Sciences) with 6-9 years of experience in Mammalian Cell based Expression systems and microbial expression systems.
      

Experience:

 

  • Experience in performing transfections in Mammalian cells in Shake flask
  • Experience in performing microbial expression
  • Experience with Protein analysis methods (SDS PAGE, Western).
  • Reasonable theoretical knowledge of Proteins, Biochemistry, Cell biology, Mammalian Protein expression, Microbial expression and affinity protein purification.
  • Working knowledge of making buffers and solutions, calculations of molarity, dilutions, measuring pH of solutions.
  • Good verbal communication, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Ability to work under strict timelines.
  • Ability to properly document results and observations in timely manner
