Core Purpose of the Role :

 

  • Have strong working knowledge of protein sciences, drug discovery, project leadership and people management.
  • Experience in protein crystallization, co-crystallization with small molecule ligands/inhibitors, X-ray diffraction, data collection and structural refinement. Experience in Cryo-EM based structure solutions is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of Gene-2-Protein workflow across multiple platforms (Bacterial, Yeast, Insect and Mammalian).
  • Sound knowledge of protein analytics (HPLC, LC-MS) and assays measuring biomolecular interactions (SPR, BLI, nanoDSF)
  • Work independently on designing experiments, analyzing data and presenting to client. Out of the box thinking to solve complex biological problems
  • Demonstrate experience and maturity handling high-performing teams in a matrix environment while leading a team of M.Sc level scientists directly reporting in.
  • Sufficient skills for globally competitive scientific proposal writing to gain new business
  • Handle technical, operational, and managerial workflows and seamlessly move between these.

  • Manage optimum utilization of resources and people to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Participate in proposal writing on new client projects, and new capability developments
  • Proactively communicate with client to manage client expectations, clarifying queries, recommending ideas and interpreting data.
  • Adequate behavioral skills & ability to build cross-functional relationships ensuring the delivery of projects on-time with quality efficiency.

Accountabilities as a Syngene Leader (only for Leadership Hires)

Experience: 8-12 years (post PhD)

Skills and Capabilities:

 

  • Expert knowledge of advanced macromolecular structural biology,
  • Working knowledge of diverse protein sciences platforms (molecular biology, upstream and downstream processes) as well as biophysical assays.
  • Track record of strong organizational, communication and problem-solving abilities; capable of absorbing different types of information; work independently; and thrive on a highly collaborative and fast-moving environment.
