Core Purpose of the Role: This position supports the operation and maintenance of Utility and Electrical networks, ensuring uninterrupted performance of critical systems essential to laboratory operations. The role requires the ability to independently manage shift activities, combining technical expertise with regulatory awareness to uphold compliance standards and maintain audit readiness

 

Role Accountabilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • To ensure compliance with Safety at workplace and place Safety at number one priority with Engineering and Maintenance by following the PTW system.
  • Planning and executing Maintenance and calibration of instruments in Utilities Equipment, HVAC.
  • To Perform and execute all the PM and breakdown calls for Utility equipment’s and lab equipment’s.
  • To prepare and update SOPs – Maintenance, Calibration, System and Operations.
  • To maintain spares, services, and AMC for Calibration / Maintenance. 
  • To follow and ensure Safe work environment and working methods in the workplace for all activities.
  • To provide monthly data for all reports required for KPI monitoring.
  • All SAP/Stores/Procurement related activities to be executed and processed in timely manner.
  • To Ensure Data Integrity Compliance for Self.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for engineering deliverables, which includes upkeep and continuous improvements related to utilities, electrical, equipment and instrumentation for Central area
  • Ensure SOP's, Preventive Maintenance via SAP and calibration schedules are followed for central utility equipment and electrical installations by engineering team as per QMS.
  • Responsible for managing and motivating team of engineers by setting clear objectives and delivering maintenance SLAs with highest level of safety and quality.
  • Ensure compliance of regulatory & statutory requirements related to Engineering. Responsible for preparing monthly Opex & Capex budget related to utilities of engineering department.
  • Coordinating with Strategic Sourcing team for proper selection of materials. Reviewing and analyzing daily energy reports of utilities and power and optimization of its cost of operations.
  • Responsible for developing good engineering practices & adopting cost effective purchase practices of all capex items & engineering spares.
  • Preparing inventory stock and maintaining critical/noncritical spares as per requirement for Electrical system and Utility equipment's
  • Creating requisition based upon the spares/service requirement by team members or self.
  • Responsible for overall S2 Operation & maintenance of Electrical substation, UPS system & central utility equipment's
  • Responsible for additional tasks assigned by management based upon requirement

Experience

Hands-on experience in utility operations and maintenance 

Proficiency in trouble shooting of utility equipment’s (Chiller, Air compressor, vacuum pumps)

Experience with electrical and utility systems

 

Skills and Capabilities

Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of Electrical system and Utility equipment’s.

Hands-on experience with Pumps, Chiller, compressor and VFD systems.

Ability to interpret and maintain SOPs, calibration logs, and change control documentation.

Experience in deviation investigations, CAPA closure, and risk assessments.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Collaborative team player with effective communication across cross-functional teams.

Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in GMP settings.

 

Education

Diploma\bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering discipline.
