Core Purpose of the Role: As a ServiceNow Technical Consultant at Syngene, the candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow applications and modules that support business operations. The role requires close collaboration with IT, Process Owners, Business Functions, and external partners to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient ServiceNow solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
Role Accountabilities
- Design, configure, and develop ServiceNow applications including ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Catalog, SPM, Project Management and Workflow Automation.
- Implement custom applications, integrations, and automation workflows using ServiceNow App Engine.
- Ensure platform upgrades, patches, and enhancements are implemented smoothly with minimal disruption.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions aligned with best practices.
- Develop and maintain ServiceNow APIs, integrations (REST/SOAP), and data imports to ensure seamless connectivity with other enterprise systems.
- Optimize platform performance, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve issues proactively.
- Maintain data quality and integrity within the CMDB and related modules.
- Ensure compliance with ITSM and organizational standards for change, incident, and problem management.
- Implement role-based access, security rules, ACLs, and governance models.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including design specifications, test plans, and release notes.
- Support user training, rollout activities, and post-implementation validation.
- Stay current on ServiceNow releases, new capabilities, and best practices, and recommend upgrades and enhancements where beneficial.
- Coordinate with external vendors, ServiceNow support, and implementation partners as needed.
Application Security
- Ensure all enhancements and custom code follow ServiceNow and global secure coding practices.
- Monitor platform security, participate in vulnerability assessments, and work with IT teams on patching and mitigation.
- Maintain documentation and repositories for configurations, integrations, and custom development.
Other Skills

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and how they integrate with ServiceNow.
- Strong technical expertise in JavaScript, API development, and database concepts.

Experience Required: Mastery in ServiceNow development, implementation, enhancement, and platform administration
Education: Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Master of Computer Application (MCA).
