Job Purpose: To lead a team of process development scientists and efficiently manage scientific efforts and resources to attain project and management objectives in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities: 
• Lead the team of process development scientists and efficiently manage scientific efforts and resources to attain project and management objectives in a timely manner.
• Provide visionary leadership to the multiple project groups in the process chemistry development and scale-up technologies 
• Effectively communicate results and issues within the projects to management and stakeholders with the highest professional standards
• Provide Support to Head Process R&D in effective execution of research strategies
• Lead process chemistry teams in process research development for New Chemical entities
• Demonstrate leadership and mentorship in scientific issues and provide technical know-how to the team.
• Displays expertise in modern and classical organic chemistry and able to visualize complex chemistry problems and provide solutions proactively.
• Recommend and implement methods to improve team productivity of the process chemistry function
• Allocate the group’s resources in accord with the project priorities
• Provide leadership within the group through a structured process of objective setting, performance appraisal and individual development.

Educational Qualification: Ph D/Post Doc in Organic Chemistry

Experience:
10+ years of experience in chemical process development with a pharmaceutical / biotechnology company

Technical/functional Skills: 
•    Strong functional knowledge in Process Chemistry and process development and scale-up technologies for APIs and pre-clinical/clinical development candidates molecules
•    Knowledge of Process safety and related practical aspects
•    High level expertise in project management of process chemistry function. 
•    Leadership skills, especially leading a large team of qualified and experienced scientists and chemical engineers
•    Matrix organization management
Behavioral Skills: 
Strategic and analytical thinking, advanced verbal and written communication skills, motivating and energizing people and teams, emotional intelligence, ability to manage matrixed teams and sub-functions
