Job Purpose (1-2 Lines):

This position oversees one of the major technology platforms (pathology, digital pathology and IHC) and is into clinical biomarker assay development, validation and analysis. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on assay selection and design for the development, qualification/validation, and sample analysis of IHC/ISH assays.
  • Collaborate closely with onsite scientists and pathologists to support translational pathology and immunohistochemistry workflows.
  • Lead and manage a team of scientists, overseeing daily operations and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to ongoing translational R&D projects in partnership with cross-functional teams and external hospital networks.
  • Engage in continuous learning and actively support digital pathology workflows.
  • Participate in the preparation, review, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); assist with inventory management and conduct periodic reviews.
  • Play an active role in recruitment processes, including conducting interviews and evaluating team performance.
  • Mentor and train team members to foster professional growth and technical expertise.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support departmental and organizational objectives.

 

Educational Qualification and Experience:  MBBS, MD/DNB Pathology

 

Technical/functional Skills: (Maximum 4-6 Points)

  1. Hands-on experience in pathology/IHC working in the hospital or corporate (pharma/technology) setting.
  2. Hands-on experience/ basic knowledge of IHC is required.
  3. Knowledge of Digital pathology is desired.
  4. Experience in oncology and/or other therapeutic areas along with handling clinical samples, and clinical programs is essential.
  5. Experience of working in a regulated laboratory setting (CAP/NABL or other GxP environment) is good to have.

 

Behavioral Skills:

•      Ensure completion of experiments and generate accurate and reproducible data from experiments.

•      Good oral and written communication and presentation skills to work in a multi-disciplinary team
