Core Purpose of the Role:
A highly self-motivated individual having experience in drug discovery and computational biology is required for Computational and Data Sciences operating unit. In this position, the candidate will support drug discovery programs by creating target dossiers for the assessment of targets.
Target dossiers are built around a therapeutic target of interest within a specific disease area which includes compendium of structural, functional, pharmacogenomic, and safety aspects of a target. Role Accountabilities
- Basic understanding on immunology, oncology and other disease areas and drug discovery approaches.
- Hands-on work on reading scientific literature, clinical research, patents for report creation based on client requirements.
- Competitive intelligence for small and large molecules w.r.t. target biology in relevance to safety, efficacy, toxicity, PK/PD etc. or specific therapeutic areas.
- Working experience with various bioinformatics databases. To be able to explore new databases.
- Critical analysis & review of reports created based on client requirements. Independent analytical mindset and an eye for detail.
- Collaboration with team to deliver value based on client’s requirements.
- Continuous effort to enhance the content and quality of reports.
- Preparation of presentations for client discussions.

Educational Qualification:
Postgraduate or PhD in biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, pharmacy, biotechnology; (experience in early drug discovery will be preferred).
- 2-6 years after postgraduation or 1-2 years after PhD (corporate experience is preferred).
- Experience in preparation of scientific reports/documents.
- Review of scientific documents.
Technical/functional Skills:
- Basic understanding on immunology, oncology and other disease areas. Well versed with the drug discovery pipeline, target/drug safety assessment and their significance.
- Knowledge on in vitro and cell-based assays related to validation of target protein for which a biopharmaceutical/biologic is being synthesized.
- Experience with competitive intelligence for target or therapeutic area.
Behavioral Skills:
- Good communication skills with proficiency in verbal and written English.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eager to adapt and learn new skills when required.
