Job Purpose (1-2 Lines): The candidate will be expected to lead and execute in vitro screening strategy for drug discovery programs in different therapeutic areas including oncology, immunology, cardiovascular and neuroscience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion drug discovery program biology, establish in vitro assays (design, develop, troubleshoot) to drive compound structure-activity relationship including screening assays (in 384- and 1536-well formats) and mechanism of action studies
- Independent analysis and interpretation of experimental data
- Presentation and communication of data to stakeholders, work in collaboration with the teams within and across the department
- Following Syngene’s data quality, integrity and EHSS guidelines
Educational Qualification: PhD in life sciences/ pharmacology/ biotechnology/ biological engineering
Technical/functional Skills:
- Hands on experience in design and development of in vitro assays (biochemical, cell-based, signaling assays, primary cell-based assays, radioligand binding assays etc)
- Expertise in enzyme and GPCR pharmacology and assays
- Hands-on experience in complex cellular models/ex-vivo systems, including designing and executing mechanistic/pharmacological characterization of lead candidates
- Hands on experience in multicolor flow cytometry, high content imaging and automation is desired
- Must be independent and able to follow pre-established experimental designs, as well as develop new methods, protocols, and technologies based on existing literature
Experience: 0-6 years of relevant work experience
Behavioral Skills: Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment; strong problem solving and analytical skills; good oral and written communication, presentation skills; must demonstrate integrity and take accountability of his/her own work
