Job Title: Principal Scientist – Assay Biology

Job Location: Bangalore

Core Purpose of the Role:

Senior Scientist to support in vitro research activities that are critical to Bicara project.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

        1. Cell based Assays & Functional Studies
  • Conduct studies to assess anti-tumor activity across various tumor cell lines and indications.
  • Execute and optimize 2D and 3D co culture experiments incorporating PBMCs, stromal cells, and other relevant cell types.

 

  • Independently plan and perform a diverse portfolio of assays including:

 

        1. Flow cytometry
        2. Cell proliferation and inhibition assays
  1. Cytokine & Biomarker Profiling
        1. Luminex
        2. ELISA
        3. Cytometric Bead Array (CBA)
  2. Imaging & Kinetic Assays: Utilize and optimize Incucyte based real time imaging to monitor cell proliferation, apoptosis, cytotoxicity, and cell cell interactions.

 

  1. Data Analysis and Documentation
  1. Analyze large experimental datasets using standard software tools and prepare study summaries for internal reviews and cross-functional meetings.
  2. Maintain rigorous, timely, and compliant documentation in Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs).

5. Compliance & Data Integrity

  • Ensure adherence to organizational safety, quality, and EHSS standards.
  • Follow ALCOA+ principles and maintain accurate electronic lab notebook (ELN) records.
  1. Laboratory Operations
        1. Support routine lab activities including mammalian cell culture.
        2. Reagent preparation and aliquoting
        3. Logging and tracking of appropriate storage and inventory of critical reagents

Specific requirements for this role:

Education

  • Master’s degree (M.Sc.) or PhD in:
    • Biology / Biotechnology
    • Immunology / Cell Biology
    • Cancer Biology or related life sciences field

Experience

  • Scientist: 7-8 years of relevant industry experience post MSc. or 2years post PhD.
  • Hands-on experience (preferred) in:
    • Cell-based assays (proliferation, cytotoxicity)
    • Mammalian cell culture
    • Immunoassays (ELISA, Luminex, CBA)
    • Flow cytometry
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., PLA, SoftMax Pro, GraphPad Prism, Excel)
