Job Purpose (1-2 Lines)
Looking for a synthetic organic chemist (PhD in Organic chemistry) who will be able to lead a team addressing synthetic challenges and supporting scaleup activities in process research and development group. Previous experience of leading a team of scientists is essential.  
                                                                                      
Key Responsibilities: 
The candidate should be able to lead a team of scientists with responsibilities towards development of safe and robust chemical processes for the preparation of intermediates/API in support of drug development activities.

Development work includes: 
•    Route scouting/proposal of alternate routes
•    Providing insights and innovative solutions to project team members in order to address process related challenges.
•    Candidate should communicate effectively with his own team members as well as with multiple teams like process engineering, process safety, analytical etc.
•    Communicating & documenting development on the project through regular updates with concerned stakeholders.

Educational Qualification:  
Candidate with PhD degree from a reputed institute/university with minimum post-doctoral experience of 2 to 3 years.    

Technical/functional Skills: 
Essential:
•    Good understanding of organic chemistry fundamentals and reaction mechanisms.
•    Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Process R&D demonstrating
o    Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams of process R and D, process safety/engineering, pilot plant, quality control.   
o    Good understanding of analytical data generated from NMR, HPLC, GC etc.
•    Publications in reputed international journals.                                                                  

Preferable:                                                                                                                            
•    Expertise in below mentioned areas 
o    Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC)
o    Peptides
o    Oligomers / Oligonucleotide chemistry                                                                                                                                                                                                                
•    Good understanding about cGMP facility in pilot plant and interaction with and quality assurance personnel               

Experience:
5 to 9 years of total research experience (post-doctoral research and industry).

Behavioral Skills:
•    Should be a good team player within and across cross functional teams.
•    Should be self-motivated, creative and independent thinking individual. 
•    Should be a good mentor to junior members of the team he is a part of.
