Job Purpose (1-2 Lines)
•    Lead activities on assigned CDAS projects, report progress to BMS counterparts through regular updates. Pro-actively find solutions to synthesis and process related challenges.
•    Enabling rapid optimization of reactions, through rapid screening of reaction conditions, enabling implementation in kilo lab and (or) pilot plant.

 

Key Responsibilities: (Maximum 5-8 Points)
1.    Go through the technical package received from BMS and understand the requirements.
2.    In discussion with relevant stakeholders, work out a clear workplan and implement the same.
3.    Communicate/discuss project related requirements. Discuss results with relevant stakeholders.  
4.    Get relevant BMS project leader’s/lead scientist’s feedback and work on resolution of the concerns pro-actively.
5.    Record the observations as per BMS guidelines using ELN.
6.    Ability to lead a group of senior chemists.
7.    Mentor and train scientists on reaction screening as required. Delegate work as appropriate.
8.    Prepare periodic updates as required. Present results in review meetings and work on solutions proposed in meetings as appropriate. 
9.    Ensure lab safety guidelines and always followed in lab. Report and escalate non-compliance as appropriate.

 

Educational Qualification:  
1.    Ph.D with 1-3 years of Post-Doc experience
2.    2-3 years of relevant industrial experience
3.    Not less than 5 publications in relevant journals.

Technical/functional Skills: (Maximum 4-6 Points)
1.    Carrying out air sensitive organic reactions, safely, on mg to g scales.
2.    Operating glove box and related equipment without assistance.
3.    Thorough understanding of basic organic reactions and synthetic methodology.
4.    Presentation skills (making slides using ppt or similar software).
5.    Good communication skills.

 

Experience:
2 to 3 years

 

Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams of process R & D, pilot plant, process safety, quality control and quality assurance personnel.                                                                     

Preferable:   
1.    Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Process R&D (2 to 3 years).
2.    Understanding of analytical data generated from NMR, HPLC, GC etc.
3.    Good understanding of cGMP                 

 

Behavioral Skills:
1.    Must be a good team player.
2.    Good communication skills.
3.    Must be able to demonstrate the biopharma behaviours.
