Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Responsible for the timely sourcing of chemicals, consumables, reagents, animals’ instruments from domestic and global market with GMP and regulatory compliance.
  2. Strategic collaboration with vendors to secure supplies of catalogue chemicals, biology, biological products, solvents, reagents, columns, and consumables.
  3. Coordinate with vendors to set up shops in India of high volume and critical supplies
  4. Support Quality Assurance in vendor onboarding, vendor audits, vendor qualification, GMP documentation
  5. Ensure better commercials, payment terms, negotiation with vendors to bring down the overall cost, timeline and achieve target savings
  6. Timely completion of all mandatory training on safety, quality, technical and behavioral and training our vendors, service providers and logistics partners
  7. Maintain document data control (generation, archival, obsolete, destruction) throughout
  8. Responsible for Budgeting, planning, and Costing for strategic sourcing dept
  9. Maintain all SOPs, guidelines, and documentation of the strategic sourcing department.
  10. Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals & vendor agreement for legal correction, price, and acceptability for materials to specifications
  11. To report non-conformities and implement corrective preventive actions in specific areas of operation.
  12. Inventory control and management, handling chemicals, consumables, reagents, biology, and biological products
  13. Establish healthy relationships with vendors and service providers.
  14.  Develop market intelligence through comprehensive database of alternative options and comparative prices for negotiating price and terms of purchase.
  15. Bring in global best standards for procurement, logistics and supply chain with highest standards of compliance, safety, ESG (Environment Social and Governance) and Quality
  16.  Develop strong alternate supply sources to mitigate single source dependency and risk mitigation

  • Overall adherence to safe practices and procedures of oneself and the teams aligned
  • Contributing to development of procedures, practices and systems that ensures safe operations and compliance to company’s integrity & quality standards
  • Driving a corporate culture that promotes environment, health, and safety (EHS) mindset and operational discipline at the workplace at all times.
  • Ensuring safety of self, teams and lab/plant by adhering to safety protocols and following environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace.
  • Ensure all assigned mandatory trainings related to data integrity, health, and safety measures are completed on time by all members of the team including self
  • Compliance to Syngene’ s quality standards at all times
  • Hold self and their teams accountable for the achievement of safety goals
  • Govern and Review safety metrics from time to time

 

 Educational Qualification:

 

  1. B. Tech/ BE /B Pharma/Any Graduation with relevant experience
  2. PG in SCM/MM or MBA is an advantage

 

Technical/functional Skills: (Maximum 4-6 Points)

  1. Good understanding of Procurement systems, Warehousing & logistics, GMP/Non GMP Quality system and compliance requirement of Pharma.
  2. Fair level of expertise in Procurement Operations and drive performance & Operational excellence                      
  3. Fair understanding of Chemical & Biologics products, production process and associated cost drivers for Procurement
  4. Strategic capability to assess the suppliers on their capabilities including cost, innovation and technology collaboration
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
  6. Knowledge of company`s compliance and regulations like,. EHSS, cGMP, ISO, ESG, Sustainable procurement etc.
