Core Purpose of the Role:

 

Responsible for driving execution of strategic decisions through establishing strategic partnerships, new business opportunities, mergers and acquisitions. Also engaged in other strategic areas as required including investor relations, competitive assessment, new strategy areas etc.

 

Role Accountabilities

  • Identification, assessment and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, investments and joint ventures in line with Syngene strategy.
  • Lead a robust and comprehensive process to identify and evaluate potential opportunities, which includes a rigorous idea generation and screening process that will bring quality acquisition, partnership and investment ideas to the management team
  • Engaged in preparation of all M&A documents, financial model and valuation
  • Lead cross-functional teams in developing business case analysis and executing and interfacing with commercial, technical, finance, accounting, legal, tax, HR and other departments to ensure seamless deal execution.
  • Manage due diligence, deal negotiation, deal structuring, approval and ensure transaction closure enabling Syngene to drive its growth momentum
  • Coordinate and lead DD across key areas; liaise with external and internal stakeholders; identify risk risks and mitigation strategies
  • Formulate, evaluate, strategize new business opportunities or business models and drive its implementation program.
  • Anchor the post deal integration to ensure that the strategic fitment and synergies are realized.
  • Understanding of competition in the market; key trends, regulatory requirements to inform benchmarking and decision making
  • Support in investor relations – including articulating the equity story to investors as required
  • Follow environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements at all times in the workplace ensuring individual and lab/plant safety
  • Ensure environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures are imparted via training and adhered within the team

Specific requirements for this role

1.Experience: 5+ years of transaction experience in investment banking, investment research, corporate development or M&A or investments

  • Experience in executing all aspects of transactions including direct experience in sourcing, analysis, execution, due diligence and closure activities.
  • Experience in articulating insights/story from synthesizing information from varied data sources.
  • Ability to structure and manage complex cross-enterprise projects and processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Should be an individual contributor.
  • Any prior experience in life sciences or bio pharma industry is preferred but not mandatory.

 

  1. Demonstrated Capability: Good understanding of financial statement, modelling and excel skills, Good understanding of overall M&A process
  2. Education: Should be an MBA, CFA, CA
