Job Purpose (1-2 Lines)
Experienced and highly motivated scientist to design, develop, optimize, and execute in vitro biochemical and cell-based assays in support of drug discovery programs. Responsible for generating high-quality data, troubleshooting assays, analyzing results, communicating to stakeholders and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrophysiology assays – patch clamping
- Design, develop, optimize, execute and troubleshoot biochemical and cell-based assays
- Independently perform experiments and generate high-quality, reproducible data.
- Compound screening, profiling, and mechanism-of-action studies in multiple therapeutic areas
- Analysis and interpretation of experimental data
- Presentation and communication of data to stakeholders
- Following Syngene’s data quality, integrity and EHSS guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with quality, data integrity, and EHSS standards
Educational Qualification: Masters in pharmacology / life sciences/ biotechnology/ biological engineering
Experience: 5-8 years of working in drug discovery industry
Technical/functional Skills:
- Strong experience in mammalian cell culture
- Electrophysiology – patch clamping,
- Hands-on expertise in biochemical and cell-based assay design and development.
- Plate-based assays, immunofluorescence/ high content imaging, microscopy and automation,
- Proficiency in GraphPad Prism or similar tools for basic data analysis
- Experience with primary cells and/or iPSC-derived cellular models.
Behavioral Skills: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, high attention to detail and commitment to data quality, excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good presentation skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet aggressive project timelines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team. Must demonstrate integrity, accountability, and scientific curiosity.
