Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team. In this role, the candidate will be leading a team of 4-5 chemical engineers. The candidate would be responsible for optimizing, scaling up processes and technology transfer from lab to production scale. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Chemical Engineering, holding a MTech or PhD degree with relevant industry exp

 

Responsibilities:

  • Well versed in chemical engineering basics including heat transfer, mass transfer, equipment design, mass and energy balance, kinetics etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including PR&D, Engineering, SCM, vendors, TT and manufacturing to transfer processes from development to production scale.
  • Participate in equipment selection, specification, procurement, and qualification.
  • Review and track key process engineering metrics.
  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Review and approve engineering documentation
  • Review and identify cost reduction measures as well as debottlenecking.
  • Maintain HSE and PSM metrics for review with internal stake holders
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and process evaluations to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Design experiments, analyse data, and troubleshoot process issues to achieve project milestones and objectives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements, applying new technologies and methodologies where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards for safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.

 

Requirements:

  • MTech or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience (for MTech) or 2-5 years (for PhD) in process development and scale-up within the chemical manufacturing industry, preferably in a CDMO environment.
  • Proven track record in process engineering with a strong understanding of chemical reactions, kinetics, and thermodynamics.
  • Experience with process simulation software (like Dynochem, Aspen) and statistical analysis tools (like Minitab, Python, Matlab) is advantageous.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong project management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results within timelines.
