Job Title: Senior Manager – Inventory Controller

Core Purpose of the Role :
Inventory controller - Monitors and maintains current inventory levels; processes review, improvements and investigates problems.
Role Accountabilities:
Inventory controller, manage inventory levels for businesses in all Operating units and develop inventory management systems, maintain stock levels, processes review, improvements and investigates problems. Ensures optimization of stocks and Material costs.

Accountabilities as a Syngene Leader (only for Leadership Hires level)
- Champion effective Environment, Occupational Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) practices for the company and oversee compliance with those practices within Biologics business. Play an active leadership role in monitoring and verifying safety performance through Gemba walks and other safety-led activities.

Education:
CA or ICWA (CMA) or MBA Finance from a premier Institute. Experience in Controlling module (CO module) is mandatory.
Skills and Capabilities
- Strong working Knowledge in SAP – CO module is mandatory
- Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts
- Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
- Update standard costs in the bill of materials
- Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies
- Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
- Calculate month Inventory provisioning as per the policy
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
- Work with the materials review board to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory
- Compliance and Audits (Statutory Audit / Internal Audit / IFC / Cost Audit)
- Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses
- Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
- Analyze Inventory pattern and suggest for corrective action
- Analyze Project wise Material cost
- Construct data accumulation systems for various modules in SAP with relate to Inventory valuation
- Create and review the controls and reporting system
- Follow 100% compliance in Data security and Safety
- Material Costing process: Guide and build end to end costing process for in partnership with stakeholders. Develop and execute material cost reduction strategies aligned to broader company objectives, including identifying process improvement programs for increased efficiencies and effectiveness. Ensure the organization has a robust material cost estimating process; hold responsibility for updating material cost.
- Profitability and mitigation: Maximize profitability through material cost savings initiatives factoring in impact from sourcing strategy shifts, manufacturing practices, duty landscape, macro-economic variables, payment terms, logistics models, business and consumer needs. Be forward-looking.
- Productivity / efficiency improvement: Facilitate material productivity improvement / level-loading programs with Supply partners and ensure resultant savings are fully realized.
- Sourcing Strategy: Influence sourcing strategy through modelling impacts of potential decisions and shifts on overall material cost base and profitability.
- Connectivity: Liaise with Supply, technical team, warehouse team and Finance Leadership; review material cost benefits realized in company P&L and balance sheet. Report out on progress, risk, and opportunities.
- Team: Build, motivate and develop the material cost optimization across organization.
