Core Purpose of the Role:

The individual must possess excellent technical knowledge and experience in ‘animal models of Neuropathic pain combined with thorough understanding of delivery of in-vivo Pharmacology projects in these therapeutic areas. The individual should possess the ability to lead and influence matrix cross-functional teams with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and quality


Role Accountabilities

  • Responsible to conduct assigned research projects including experiments with utilizing current concepts and recognized standard techniques.
  • Responsible to set up the experimental designs, analysis of data and concluding from the progress.
  • Record laboratory observations information in lab notebooks, database and document the experimental designs.
  • Responsible for data analysis, perform calculations for the result of the experiment.
  • Summarize the research and communicate result of research to the supervisor and client

Accountabilities as a Syngene Leader (only for Leadership Hires)

Specific requirements for this role

  1. Experience: 3 - 6 years
  2. Demonstrated Capability: Thorough understanding and practical hands-on experience on Animal models of pain and arthritis
  3. Education: Master’s in Pharmacology/M.V.Sc Pharmacology 

 

Skills and Capabilities

  • Hands-on experience in execution of pain models which includes Chemically Induced Nociception - Acetic acid induced writhing, Formalin induced tonic pain, Neuropathic Pain - Partial sciatic nerve ligation (PSNL), chronic constriction injury (CCI), Spinal Nerve Ligation (SNL) and Inflammatory Pain - Adjuvant (CFA) induced pain.
  • Hands-on experience in handling acute inflammation models such as – LPS induced pulmonary inflammation; Carrageenan induced paw edema and Cytokine Induced Inflammation and peritonitis animal models.
  • Hands-on experience in handling chronic inflammation models such as – Carrageenan Airpouch inflammation, Cotton Pellet Induced Granuloma and Bleomycin Induced Pulmonary Fibrosis.
  • Will work independently or in association with senior scientists and other associates in the design and execution of in-vivo efficacy experiments in the relevant therapeutic area.
  • Experience in animals handling (rodents and non rodents) such as dosing by various routes, bleeding by various routes, injections by various routes and surgical modalities which includes cannulation etc…
  • Associate to provide technical, analysis and reporting outcomes of research for projects in relevant therapeutic area.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment are required.
