The Role

 

The Pricing lead will lead Syngene’s corporate pricing strategy to drive the development and management of pricing strategies and tactics. He/She will execute on projects to improve revenue, margin, and solution portfolio objectives. With insights from Syngene’s financial performance, competitive position, and market dynamics, this leader will drive growth across the entire portfolio

 

Key Result Areas

Role-specific:

  • Support overall thought leadership in identifying market opportunities, performing business and competitive analysis, and develop pricing strategies and tactics to pursue identified opportunities
  • Lead the pricing strategy for renewal and new client negotiations, cross-functional projects of sales, finance, and operations utilizing market dynamics, business performance, and devise effective pricing strategies and negotiation tactics
  • Support strategic pricing decisions, develop analytics around pricing (e.g., price sensitivity/elasticity analysis, regression analysis, price waterfalls, etc.) and present plans to senior executives
  • Participate in solution development portfolio decisions
  • Work closely with commercial leadership to develop sales training and collateral and drive pricing and promotional decisions
  • Develops and maintain internal controls over the pricing activities to ensure compliance
  • Implements pricing governance and adherence to pricing policy
  • Develop pricing intelligence across services to enable effective pricing decisions
  • Develop and implement targeted Pricing Actions across segments to proactively maximize profit
  • Provide pricing recommendations and participate in strategic and tactical negotiation planning and execution
  • Negotiate and influence internally to encourage adoption and testing of new pricing structures and strategies
  • Develop pricing models, processes and deployment of such across the organizations
  • Provide ad hoc analysis on various special projects as they arise under the direction of BU or Enterprise leadership
  • Building relationships with all relevant internal customers, partners and other stakeholders, including global partners
  • Align the overall product(s) strategy with the Pricing and Contract Strategy at the customer level
  • Liaise with other business functions to identify and deploy operational best practices-both regionally and within individual business units.

Education and Experience

 

Education

 

  • BS/BA required; with concentration in finance, business, or marketing; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 12 to 15 years in pricing, sales, finance, or a combination of functions with preferred experience in Pharma or Services Industry

 

Industry Experience

 

  • 15-18 years of relevant experience across industries. (Preferred life sciences/pharma)
  • International exposure and experience (added advantage, not a mandatory requirement)
