Core Purpose of the Role:

 

The candidate is responsible for performing necropsy of laboratory animals, tissue trimming, processing, support the clinical pathology analysis and documentation of raw data as per Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and regulatory requirements. In addition, the candidate will be involved in blood collection in laboratory animals, anesthesia, euthanasia, husbandry practices and preparation for the necropsy activities.

Role Accountabilities:

 

  • Euthanasia and necropsy of study animals, collection, weighing, verification, and preservation of organs.
  • Preparation of various reagents, fixatives, solutions, and stains used in histopathology laboratory.
  • Trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning of tissues and staining, mounting and labeling of slides.
  • Maintaining the chemical stock register.
  • Involving in archival of pathology specimens such as tissue bottles, paraffin blocks, histopathology slides and bone marrow slides.
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation as per regulatory requirements.
  • Performing the analysis of clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation and urine parameters using automated analyzers
  • Preparation of anticoagulant, vials for sample collection and separation of plasma, serum, blood smears and staining.
  • Laboratory animal husbandry practices, health monitoring procedures and documentation.
  • Maintenance of consumables for the daily laboratory activities

Skills and Capabilities:

 

• Experience in conduct of necropsy of laboratory animals and histology/clinical pathology activities

• Good in verbal and written communication skills.

 

Education

 

  • B.Sc Zoology
  • DMLT
