Job Title: Enterprise Architect
Job Location: Bengaluru
Reporting to: Head Digital Strategy & Governance

Core Purpose of the Role:
The core purpose of the Enterprise Architect role at Syngene, is to design and oversee the implementation of a robust and scalable IT architecture that aligns with the company's strategic objectives. This role involves creating a cohesive technology roadmap, integrating emerging technologies, and ensuring that IT solutions are efficient, secure, and future proof. The Enterprise Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation initiatives, optimize business processes, and support Syngene's mission of becoming a digital-first organization. Additionally, the Enterprise Architect will provide architectural direction to all digital initiatives, ensuring consistency, interoperability, and alignment with the overall IT strategy. This role is critical in fostering innovation and guiding the organization through its digital transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT architecture strategy and technology roadmap aligned with Syngene's business objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Develop and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all IT projects. Oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide technology platforms and ensure their effective integration with peripheral systems.
- Provide architectural direction and guidance for all digital initiatives, ensuring consistency, interoperability, and alignment with the overall IT strategy. Ensure IT solutions comply with industry regulations, security standards, and best practices.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions that support the organization's current and future needs.
- Conduct regular assessments of the IT architecture to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and integrate emerging technologies that enhance business processes and drive innovation. Facilitate communication and collaboration between business units and IT teams to ensure alignment on technology solutions and priorities.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of technology vendors / solutions and its implementation that meet organizational requirements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to IT team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Syngene's IT architecture remains cutting-edge and competitive.

Technical skills:
- Enterprise Architecture Frameworks: Proficiency in TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
- System Architecture Design & Documentation: Strong skills in designing scalable, resilient, and secure system architectures. Ability to create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and design patterns.
- Networking & Security: Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, including data encryption, identity management, and compliance requirements. Understanding of network architecture, including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Cloud Computing & DevOps Tools: Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud architecture design. Working knowledge with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Integration Technologies: Experience with integration tools and middleware (e.g., API management {REST, OPENAPI, ODATA}, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, IBM).
- Data Management: Proficiency in data architecture, including databases (SQL, NoSQL), data warehousing, and big data technologies.
- ERP, CRM & Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms (e.g., Salesforce). Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, IoT, blockchain, and their application in enterprise environments.
- Project Management: Experience with project management and application development collaboration tools (e.g., MS Projects, JIRA, Confluence, Trello).

Qualification & Experience:
B. Tech /B.E./MCA /MTech in Computer Science/ Information Technology with mastery in enterprise architecture and implementing Digital solutions in respective area. Working experience in Pharma/Life science domain will be preferred. TOGAF 9 or Zachman Certification will be preferred.
