Core Purpose of the Role:
The core purpose of the Enterprise Architect role at Syngene, is to design and oversee the implementation of a robust and scalable IT architecture that aligns with the company's strategic objectives. This role involves creating a cohesive technology roadmap, integrating emerging technologies, and ensuring that IT solutions are efficient, secure, and future-proof. The Enterprise Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive digital transformation initiatives, optimize business processes, and support Syngene's mission of becoming a digital-first organization. Additionally, the Enterprise Architect will provide architectural direction to all digital initiatives, ensuring consistency, interoperability, and alignment with the overall IT strategy. This role is critical in fostering innovation and guiding the organization through its digital transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT architecture strategy aligned with Syngene's business objectives and digital transformation goals.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions that support the organization's current and future needs.
- Provide architectural direction and guidance for all digital initiatives, ensuring consistency, interoperability, and alignment with the overall IT strategy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and integrate emerging technologies that enhance business processes and drive innovation.
- Create and manage a technology roadmap that outlines the strategic direction for IT systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure IT solutions comply with industry regulations, security standards, and best practices.
- Conduct regular assessments of the IT architecture to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between business units and IT teams to ensure alignment on technology solutions and priorities.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of technology vendors and solutions that meet organizational requirements.
- Develop and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all IT projects.
- Support the Head of Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies in driving strategic initiatives and projects.
- Mentor and provide guidance to IT team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Syngene's IT architecture remains cutting-edge and competitive.
- Oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide technology platforms and ensure their effective integration with existing systems.
- Ensure the IT infrastructure is resilient, scalable, and capable of supporting the organization’s growth and innovation objectives.
Technical skills:
- Enterprise Architecture Frameworks: Proficiency in TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
- Cloud Computing: Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud architecture design.
- Software Development: Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including agile and DevOps practices.
- Integration Technologies: Experience with integration tools and middleware (e.g., API management, ESB, message brokers).
- Security: Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, including data encryption, identity management, and compliance requirements.
- Networking: Understanding of network architecture, including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Data Management: Proficiency in data architecture, including databases (SQL, NoSQL), data warehousing, and big data technologies.
- ERP and CRM Systems: Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
- Emerging Technologies: Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, IoT, blockchain, and their application in enterprise environments.
- System Architecture Design: Strong skills in designing scalable, resilient, and secure system architectures.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and design patterns.
- Project Management Tools: Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Trello).
- DevOps Tools: Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Business Process Modeling: Proficiency in business process modeling and analysis tools (e.g., BPMN, UML).

Qualification & Experience:
B. Tech /B.E./MCA /MTech in Computer Science/ Information Technology with a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in enterprise architecture and implementing Digital solutions in respective area. Working experience in Pharma/Life science domain will be preferred. TOGAF 9 or Zachman Certification will be preferred.
