Key Responsibilities:  


•    Work closely with senior leadership and Divisional /Operating Unit Senior leadership to cultivate Syngene Safety Culture and managing EHSS operational requirement in biologics manufacturing Services vertical.

  • Will lead Kavach programme to achieve visible safety culture (operational discipline and sustainable safety).
  • Manages regulatory agency, 3rd party audits, inspections, inquiries, contacts and reporting
  • Monitor developing international, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and initiatives; analyze potential impacts; provide practical recommendations and risk analyses.
  • Work in partnership with senior and site management to develop and implement strategies, policies, and services to increase employee safety & reduce organization risks.
  • Conduct safety audits. Audits will include a summary report noting any deviations and corrective actions that may be necessary to promote the health and safety of workers and the environment.
  • Conducts risk reviews, compliance audits and internal assessment of facilities.
  • Organizes and conduct safety training as necessary.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and control occupational health risks associated with exposure to biohazardous agents and materials and to develop programs to manage these risks.
  • Provide input to biohazard emergency response plans and pandemic planning & preparedness.
  • Identify, assess, and control occupational health risks associated with exposure to bio-hazardous agents and materials and to develop programs to manage these risks.
  • Identify bio-hazardous agents are infectious agents that include bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa, multicellular parasites, prions (proteins), and certain types of recombinant DNA.
  • Identify bio-hazardous materials include human and/or other animal blood, body fluids, tissues that contain bio-hazardous agents; in vitro cell or tissue cultures of bio-hazardous agents, and toxins that cause disease in humans and/or other animals.
  • General EHSS activities including, PTW, Fire Safety, Safety Walkthroughs, waste management etc.
  • Maintaining of EHSS related document and internal audits.
  • Responsible for closing audit and walkthrough observation co-ordination with supporting OUs.
  • Essentials Reviews project proposals and provides advice on biosafety issues.
  • Advises on occupational health programs for persons working with bio-hazardous agents and materials.
  • Provide and interpret biosafety regulations, guidelines, resources and reference information. Understanding of projects and documents biosafety training.
  • Develop and implement an infectious-medical waste management program.
  • Interpretation of health data in Pathogen Safety Data Sheets (PSDSs), including biohazard classification the routes of exposure, modes of transmission, and other criteria that determine the hazard category of a bio-hazardous agent.
  • Conduct a risk assessment, assign biosafety containment levels (e.g. BSL, ABSL), and implement recommended work practices, engineering controls and facility design requirements to mitigate risk associated with work involving bio-hazardous agents and materials
  • Provides technical information and advice on new technologies influencing biological safety.

 

Educational Qualification:  
•    BSc/MSc (Chemistry) / BTech/MTech (Chemical) / Diploma in Industrial safety


Technical/functional Skills

•    Well versed with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Projects

• Good command in English both oral and written and customer service skills

• Have knowledge on Discovery project lifecycle

• Good time-management skills

• Great interpersonal and communication skills

• Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices
