Role overview

In this role, you will be fully accountable for the commercial success of your assigned region. You will develop and execute the territory strategy, build trusted relationships with early- and late-stage biologics clients, and drive high-quality opportunities through the full lifecycle from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.  In addition you will contribute to the overall success of the commercial organization by working in concert with your peers and cross functional counterparts to maximize synergy revenue for Syngene supporting the achievement of the companies annual financial targets with integrity.

 

This role requires a strong command of biologics development and manufacturing services, clear and consistent communication, and the ability to manage expectations effectively with both customers and internal stakeholders.   Cross functional collaboration is essential and the ability to thrive in a strong global collaborative culture focused on driving growth by identifying, nurturing and closing new client business while managing long-term and recurring client business will be critical to your success.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Territory Ownership & Commercial Growth

 

Own all commercial performance for your region, including new business closures, revenue targets, and pipeline development.

Build and execute a territory plan focused on high-value early-stage (CLD/FIH) and late-stage (Tech Transfer/PPQ/Commercial) opportunities.

Maintain clear visibility on all active opportunities and effectively manage stakeholder expectations across long sales cycles.

Provide weekly updates in Salesforce on all opportunities with a clear understanding and commitment to enhancing asynchrony margin within the business.

 

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

 

Acquire new customers through direct targeted outreach, networking, conference engagement, and follow-up on inbound leads in close collaboration with internal sales resources.

Build strong, trust-based relationships by understanding client needs, technical requirements, and development timelines.

Serve as the primary commercial interface for customers, ensuring transparent and timely communication at all stages.

 

Opportunity & Deal Management

 

Ensure we meet client expectations in RFx development in partnership with global scientific, technical, and proposal teams, ensuring high-quality, competitive and on-time submissions.

Negotiate development, tech transfer, and manufacturing contracts with a clear understanding of risk, scope, and value.

Drive proposal velocity and maintain accurate forecasts to support operational and leadership decision-making.

 

Internal Collaboration & Communication

 

Work closely with scientific, operational, finance, legal, and project management teams in India and the U.S.

Manage internal expectations through clear communication, proactive updates, and strong understanding of operational constraints and opportunities.

Maintain accurate and timely Salesforce updates, including weekly updates on opportunities.

 

Essential Qualifications

Bachelor or Masters degree in relevant scientific field.

An MBA or PhD in relevant scientific field is desirable.

 

Essential Experiences

 

10+ years of commercial experience in life sciences with a minimum of 3 years of CDMO sales experience in biologics, including development and GMP manufacturing programs.

Proven success managing early-stage and late-stage client engagements.

Track record of consistently achieving or exceeding annual targets.

Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong executive presence and operate as an owner of a territory.

Annual quota responsibility in excess of $15M USD with a record of consistent over achievement.

Familiarity with CLD, upstream/downstream development, tech transfer, PPQ, and commercial manufacturing.

 

 

Desirable Experiences

 

Experience working in a matrixed, global organization across multiple time zones.

Direct experience collaborating with India-based delivery or scientific teams.

Background in consultative, technical sales within complex customer organizations.
