Role overview:
We are looking for a Data Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable pipelines and workflows to support R&D requirements. The role will work closely with scientific and informatics teams to deliver reliable and high‑quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data pipelines for ingesting and processing scientific data.
- Develop workflow scripts and automate data processes using tools like Nextflow or similar workflow engines.
- Support pipeline optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting on Linux HPC/cloud environments.
- Work with scientists and data scientists to understand data needs and deliver usable solutions.
- Follow data engineering best practices: version control, testing, documentation, and code reviews.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in informatics for life sciences
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering or scientific computing roles.
Preferred Skills & Expertise:
- Strong programming skills in Python and R; working knowledge of Java and SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Practical experience with cheminformatics, bioinformatics workflows and demonstrated experience using tools like Nextflow/Snakemake.
- Experience working with container technologies, Linux HPC systems and cloud services.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
