Core Purpose of the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Computational Biologist to join our growing research and development team. The ideal candidate will apply advanced computational and statistical methods to analyze high-throughput biological data and generate actionable insights that support drug discovery, biomarker development, and disease biology research.
Role Accountabilities:
- Analyze and interpret large-scale multi-omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, single-cell, and spatial data) generated through high-throughput sequencing (NGS) and other platforms to derive actionable biological insights, including target identification and biomarker discovery.
- Perform advanced bioinformatics analyses such as differential expression, pathway and enrichment analysis, variant calling, integrative multi-omics analysis, and network modeling.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain scalable, reproducible computational pipelines for data processing, quality control, integration, and visualization across diverse datasets.
- Lead and contribute to studies focused on target identification, mechanism-of-action (MoA) elucidation, and biomarker discovery using systems biology and data-driven approaches.
- Utilize advanced statistical methods to identify patterns in biological data.
- Mentor junior team members
- Collaborate cross-functionally with experimental biologists, data scientists, and clinicians to interpret results.
- Develop and maintain reproducible code and documentation for internal and external use.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, databases, and tools in computational biology and bioinformatics.
- Present results clearly in cross-disciplinary meetings.

Specific requirements for this role
- Demonstrated Capability
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl for bioinformatics applications.
- Proven experience with processing and analysis of high-throughput datasets (e.g., RNA-seq, WGS, ATAC-seq, single-cell, proteomics).
- Familiarity with commonly used bioinformatics tools, databases (e.g., Ensembl, GEO, TCGA, UniProt), and workflow management systems (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake).
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git), reproducibility standards, and working in Linux/Unix environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Education: Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology,
Skills and Capabilities
- Experience with machine learning, network biology, or statistical modeling in a biological context.
- Exposure to drug discovery workflows, including target identification, validation, and translational research.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Singularity).
- Track record of publications in high-impact journals and/or contributions to open-source bioinformatics tools.
- Experience with regulatory standards and clinical data integration is a plus.
