Core Purpose of the Role: The role will be instrumental in helping organization make data-driven decisions by transforming raw data into valuable outcome. This position combines expertise in data analysis, database management, and data validation to support strategic decision-making within the company. The Business Analytics & Data Intelligence Analyst is responsible for collecting, analysing, and visualizing data to provide actionable recommendations to management and other stakeholders.

The role will act as a catalyst in harnessing the power of data to drive business growth, optimise processes, and support business to make informed decisions.

 

Role Accountabilities:

  • Analyse business processes, identifies needs, and establishes requirements to enhance efficiency and productivity through a blend of business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Develop and execute data intelligence strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Identify opportunities to leverage data for better decision-making, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
  • Initiate and drive all automation initiatives for the commercial team, design dashboards and visualizations using Power BI/advanced tools to automate existing reports/dashboards and increase process efficiency.
  • Develop insights that will help business and operation teams to take strategic decisions that will impact top line or bottom line for the company.
  • Leverage analytical tools and techniques to generate and improve decision-making by modelling client, market, and key performance data. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Design, implement and drive adoption of new analytic technologies and solutions and promote industry standard best practices.
  • Drive and recommend data-oriented analysis, architect metrics, synthesize information, solve problems, and influence leadership and business decision-making by presenting insights and market trends
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track business performance, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
  • Develop hypotheses against an opportunity area or problem statement and test with quantitative or qualitative analysis.
  • Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). Ensure data is treated as a valuable organisational asset.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of data intelligence tools and technologies. Ensure the infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and able to handle the organisation's growing data needs.
  • Collaborate with various departments, such as Marketing, Divisions, PMO, Finance, and IT, to understand their data needs and provide data-driven solutions to business challenges
  • Ensure data privacy and security protocols are in place to protect sensitive information and comply with relevant data protection laws.

Specific requirements for the role

 

Education - A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, Quantitative Science, statistics, or a related field is typically required.

 

Experience - Significant experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and data management, with at least 5+ years of progressive experience in data-related roles.

 

Skills and Capabilities

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R), data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI preferred), and data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms is also beneficial.
  • Solid grasp of data munging techniques, including data cleaning, transformation, and normalization to ensure data quality and integrity
  • A deep understanding of the business processes and key performance indicators (KPIs) to effectively translate data insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively work in teams and collaborate effectively with other departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex business challenges using data-driven methodologies.
  • The ability to adapt to changing business needs, technologies, and data-related trends is crucial in a rapidly evolving data landscape.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise manner.
