Core Purpose of the Role:

 

The core purpose of the Business Analyst role at Syngene, is to bridge the gap between business needs and IT solutions. The Business Analyst will gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring these are effectively translated into technological implementations that enhance operational efficiency and drive digital transformation. By collaborating closely with stakeholders and leveraging industry knowledge, the Business Analyst will contribute to innovative projects that support Syngene's strategic objectives and foster a digital-first organizational culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Requirements Gathering:

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and document their business needs and requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather detailed business requirements.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements to align with business goals and IT capabilities.

 

Documentation:

  • Create clear and concise user requirement specifications (URS), business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and use cases.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Solution Implementation:

  • Collaborate with IT developers, system architects, and project managers to design and implement IT solutions.
  • Ensure that solutions meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and support the deployment of new systems or enhancements.

 

Project Management:

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of IT projects.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between business units and IT teams and provide status updates to the stakeholders

 

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes.
  • Develop training materials and user guides.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues.

 

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure all IT solutions comply with pharmaceutical industry regulations and quality standards.
  • Participate in audits and ensure documentation and processes meet regulatory requirements.

 

Strategy and Innovation

  • Analyze and prioritize business needs to align with strategic objectives and IT capabilities.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate IT systems to recommend improvements and innovations
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies to conceptualize new digital projects and drive transformation initiatives.

 

Automation and Process Mining

  • Identify opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
  • Implement process mining techniques to analyze, optimize, and enhance business processes.
  • Develop and deploy automation solutions to streamline workflows and improve operational effectiveness.

 

 

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in business analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience of working in BPM tools like Visio, Signavio, Pega, and process mining tools like Celonis, etc.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry processes, regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Should have experience of automating business processes using RPA and other automation tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
  • Ability to develop comprehensive documentation, including BRDs, functional specifications, and use cases.
  • Understanding of integration technologies and APIs.
  • Competence in using collaboration and communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack).

Qualification & Experience:

 

B. Tech /B.E./MCA /MTech in Computer Science/ Information Technology with a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in business analysis and implementing Digital solutions in respective area. Working experience in Pharma/Life science domain will be preferred. PMP Certification will be preferred.
