Core Purpose of the Role:

 

The core purpose of the Business Analyst role at Syngene, is to bridge the gap between business needs and IT solutions. The Business Analyst will gather, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring these are effectively translated into technological implementations that enhance operational efficiency and drive digital transformation. By collaborating closely with stakeholders and leveraging industry knowledge, the Business Analyst will contribute to innovative projects that support Syngene's strategic objectives and foster a digital-first organizational culture.

 

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage high-quality documentation including BRDs, FSDs, use cases, RFI/RFPs, and partner evaluation summaries to support solution design and vendor selection.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to capture and document business needs, strategic objectives, and operational challenges.
  • Facilitate interviews, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative workshops to elicit, validate, and refine business and technical requirements.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements to ensure they are aligned with organizational goals, IT capabilities, and regulatory constraints.
  • Assess existing processes, systems, and data flows to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop comprehensive process maps, workflow diagrams, and future-state models to visualize and communicate business operations effectively.
  • Build robust business cases incorporating benefit realization metrics such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI), and strategic impact.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation throughout the project lifecycle to ensure traceability, audit readiness, and compliance.
  • Deliver end-user training and support, including the development of training materials, user guides, and onboarding resources.
  • Design and publish insightful dashboards and reports using tools like Excel, Power BI, and Tableau to enable data-driven decision-making.

 

  • Ensure all IT solutions adhere to pharmaceutical industry regulations, GxP standards, and internal quality frameworks.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and processes meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for process automation to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Apply process mining techniques to analyze, optimize, and improve business workflows and performance.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in business analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with BPM tools like Visio, Signavio, Pega, and process mining platforms such as Celonis.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical industry processes, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP), supply chain management (SCM), and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Expertise in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with project management tools like JIRA, Trello, or equivalent.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation including BRDs, functional specifications, and use cases.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies, APIs, and system interoperability.
  • Proficiency in collaboration and communication tools like Microsoft Teams

Qualification & Experience:

 

B. Tech /B.E./MCA /M.Tech in Computer Science/ Information Technology with a minimum of 6-10 years’ experience in business analysis and implementing Digital solutions in respective areas. Working experience in Pharma/Life science domain will be preferred.
