The Proposal Management team is crucial in securing new business opportunities by efficiently preparing and presenting compelling project proposals to potential clients.

Job Purpose: The role will contribute to the end-to-end development and delivery of high-quality, client-ready proposals, RFIs, and supporting commercial responses for the Biologics and LMCDMO business, ensuring alignment across Business Development, technical functions, project management, finance, supply chain, legal, quality, and other enabling teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take end-to-end ownership for developing, coordinating, reviewing, and finalizing high-quality proposals in the Biologics and LMCDMO space, ensuring that scope, timelines, assumptions, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and client requirements are accurately captured and aligned before submission.
  • Accountable for the timely delivery of high-quality proposals to the business development team.
  • Work with technical, business development, finance, project management, and other relevant stakeholders to support competitive pricing, costing inputs, commercial assumptions, and proposal positioning in line with internal governance requirements.
  • Lead the preparation of responses to RFIs, RFPs, questionnaires, and client clarification requests, ensuring that responses are complete, consistent, technically accurate, commercially aligned, and submitted within agreed timelines.
  • Coordinate with technical business unit teams to collect, validate, and consolidate inputs on scope of work, assumptions, deliverables, timelines, resource estimates, dependencies, and effort requirements for proposal development.
  • Manage proposal-related clarifications, response iterations, version control, and internal review cycles to ensure that final submissions are accurate, traceable, and aligned with approved technical and commercial positions.
  • Maintain proposal trackers and pipeline tools with accurate updates on status, ownership, timelines, dependencies, risks, follow-ups, and submission milestones.
  • Support proposal improvement initiatives, including adoption of automation and proposal management tools such as D-Vega and Responsive, and help drive consistent usage across RFx workflows.
  • Coordinate execution of contractual agreements on time.
  • Support the structured handover of newly awarded deals to project management by ensuring that the approved scope, assumptions, pricing basis, client commitments, timelines, and key discussion points are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Contribute to the content library by submitting new content or updates to existing content using the official content submission process.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Supply Chain, and other enabling functions as required to ensure that proposal responses are aligned with internal policies, approved capabilities, confidentiality requirements, contractual expectations, and client-specific response formats.
  • Ensure environment, health, and safety (EHS) measures are imparted via training and adhered to within the team.

Educational Qualification:

  • M.Tech/Master's degree/Ph.D in Biotechnology or Life Sciences, MBA desirable

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Good understanding of Biologics CDMO services, including development, manufacturing, analytical, quality, regulatory, supply chain, and project execution considerations relevant to client proposals and RFx responses.
  • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to accomplish the task in a time-bound manner
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to work with proposal management systems, content libraries, shared trackers, and client portal submissions.
  • Proven capability in planning, multitasking, and prioritizing; showcasing effective teamwork.
  • Excellent English communication (both written and verbal), and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, Business Development, technical teams, enabling functions, and Syngene senior management, including the ability to follow up, escalate appropriately, and drive closure within agreed timelines.
  • Knowledge of pre-sales, proposal management, RFIs, RFPs, bid calendars, review governance, response quality checks, proposal content management, and client submission processes.
  • Fast learner with the ability to adopt digital tools, proposal platforms, and automation-enabled workflows.
  • Possess the knowledge and exposure to environment, health, and safety (EHS) practices.

Experience:

9-13 years of experience in Pharma, CRO, CDMO, Biologics, or related life sciences organization, with exposure to proposal management, project management, business development support, pre-sales, commercial operations, or client-facing technical coordination. Experience supporting RFIs, RFPs, or CDMO proposals is desirable.
