Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bioinformatician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in multi-omics data analysis, pipeline automation, and integrative data analysis. They will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, automated pipelines for multi-omics data, performing integrative analyses, and contributing to the development of novel computational approaches to uncover biological insights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and automated pipelines for multi-omics data processing, integration, and analysis.
  • Ensure reproducibility and efficiency of workflows using workflow management tools (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake).
  • Implement best practices for version control, modularization, and documentation of pipelines.
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of multi-omics datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and epigenomics.
  • Apply advanced multivariate data analysis techniques, including regression, clustering, and dimensionality reduction, to uncover patterns and relationships in large datasets.
  • Create high-quality, publication-ready visualizations to communicate complex datasets and analysis results effectively.
  • Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics tools, algorithms, and methods, particularly in multi-omics and network biology.

Technical Skills

Mandatory:

  1. Programming: Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, visualization, and pipeline development.
  2. Multi-omics analysis: Proven experience in analyzing and integrating multi-omics datasets.
  3. Biological networks: Familiarity with gene regulatory networks and protein-protein interaction networks.
  4. Data visualization: Strong understanding of data visualization techniques and tools (e.g., ggplot2, matplotlib, seaborn, or D3.js).

Preferred:

  1. Graph and Network biology: Basic understanding of graph theory, networks, and their applications in biological contexts.
  2. Statistics: Knowledge of probability distributions, correlation analysis, and hypothesis testing.
  3. Workflow management Tools: Familiarity with tools like Nextflow, Snakemake, or CWL for pipeline development.
  4. Cloud computing: Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools like Docker or Singularity.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in multi-omics data analysis and bioinformatics pipeline development.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
