Position Title: Process Engineer

 

Job Purpose: Looking for a process engineer who will be able to address chemical engineering challenges on bench and support scale-up activities in process research and development group

Function: PD-Process Safety & Engg (PSE)

 

Reports to (Designation): Principal Investigator

 

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

 

The successful candidate will have to work as individual contributor as part of PSE team with responsibilities like development of safe and robust chemical processes for the preparation of drug substances in support of drug development activities. Development work includes experimental study of unit processes/unit operations in the laboratory and their implementation in the appropriate scale-up facility. Responsibilities:                                                                                          1. Responsible for handling unit operations (crystallization, distillation, extraction, reaction, drying, milling) on scale and for engineering analysis (heat and mass transfer).                                                                                                                  2. On-bench contribution: Demonstrate the process which involves process engineering\safety challenges                                                                               3. Look into process critically and to develop safe and scalable processes          4. Providing insights and innovative engineering solutions to project team members in order to address process related challenges

 

Qualification & Experience:

 

Master’s in chemical engineering from reputed institute/university (India/abroad) with 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience

 

Skills:

 

Essential:                                                                                                                1. Good understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals and unit operations. Expertise in Crystallization development preferred.                                                                                                           2. Coordination with a multi-disciplinary team of process R and D, pilot plant, process safety, quality control and quality assurance personnel.           Preferable:                                                                                                              1. Previous experience in Pharmaceutical Process R&D, Process Engineering.                                                                                             2. Exposure to Dynochem or any other modeling software, reaction kinetics, DoE                               3. Understanding of Analytical data generated from HPLC, GC, XRPD, DSC etc.                     4. Good understanding about cGMP facility in pilot plant
