Key Responsibilities/ Technical/functional Skills:
Performs chemical experiments accurately; synthesizes, purifies, acquires, and analyzes data efficiently and independently following best lab practices. Well versed with modern synthetic chemistry methodologies, reaction mechanisms and other enabling technologies. Candidate must have proficiency in medicinal chemistry - Developing an understanding of SAR by the integration of data from multiple fields; Display ownership in lead optimization and design new molecules using SAR and other appropriate resources such as modeling, computational and literature precedent; Effective engagement with other functions such as CADD, Biology, and Pharmacokinetics etc. to enhance design ideas, biology understanding and in vitro-in vivo correlations. The candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills to presents experimental results and updates in group meetings, medchem strategy and multi-functional meetings; producing concise scientific reports/updates and/or regulatory documents of high quality (e.g. patent write-up); desire to work in a collaborative team environment as a project leader; must demonstrate the ability to provide direction, feedback, and assistance to others in an effective manner. Demonstrate leadership in safety, departmental infrastructure and demonstrates lab/department citizenship.
Educational Qualification: Ph.D in Organic Chemistry
