Core Purpose of the Role:

 

The candidate is responsible for supervising the assigned team and their activities. He will be ensuring supply of quality slides, timely archival of study related specimen and raw data, addressing the audit response, SOP preparation and review.  Also, performing necropsy of laboratory animals, tissue sectioning (microtomy) and documentation of raw data as per Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and regulatory requirements as and when required. In addition, the candidate will be involved in laboratory animal anaesthesia, euthanasia, husbandry practices and preparation for the necropsy activities.

Role Accountabilities:

 

  • Supervising the assigned activities and assigned team members in pathology laboratory.
  • Delivering quality slides, in a timely manner to pathologists in line with the committed timelines
  • Addressing the audit responses in a timely manner
  • Ensuring the timely archival of study specimen and raw data
  • Preparation and revision of standard operating procedures.
  • Involving in qualification of the vendors, suppliers and instruments.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Euthanasia and necropsy of study animals, collection, weighing, verification, and preservation of organs.
  • Preparation of various reagents, fixatives, solutions, and stains used in histopathology laboratory.
  • Trimming, processing, embedding, sectioning of tissues and staining, mounting and labeling of slides.
  • Maintaining the chemical stock register.
  • Involving in archival of pathology specimens such as tissue bottles, paraffin blocks, histopathology slides and bone marrow slides.
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation as per regulatory requirements.
  • Laboratory animal husbandry practices, health monitoring procedures and documentation.
  • Maintenance of consumables for the daily laboratory activities

Experience

 

  • 4-7 years

 

Skills and Capabilities:

 

• Experience in supervising pathology activities

• Experience in conduct of necropsy of laboratory animals and histology/clinical pathology activities

• Good in verbal and written communication skills.
