Job Purpose: Screening for interim/commercial form, small scale crystallization process   development and milling activities towards enabling drug development

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Polymorph and salt screening of NCEs to enable form endorsements for IND TOX and FIH
  • Small scale crystallization process development and jet milling activities.
  • Handling instruments for solid state characterization like PXRD, DSC, TGA, DVS, Microscope, Hot stage and UPLC/HPLC.
  • Record, summarize and present experimental results. Draft scientific reports
  • Prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders and present them in relevant forums
  • Lab and inventory management
  • Good working knowledge of MS office and other relevant scientific software tools

 

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

M.Sc. or M.Pharm. or M.Tech in Chemistry/ / Pharmaceutical chemistry/ Physical Chemistry

Technical Skills:              

  • Understanding and sound knowledge of polymorph and salt/co-crystal screening techniques
  • Basic knowledge of solid-state characterization tools and preferably having hands-on experience on PXRD, DSC, TGA, DVS, UPLC/HPLC
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics and kinetics
  • Knowledge in basics of nucleation and crystal growth
  • Basic understanding on theory of crystallization process development and size reduction techniques

  • Ready to learn new technologies and adapt to novel workflows
  • Be a team player and work with the analytical team for data acquisition and interpretation
  • Cross-functional collaboration internally as well as with external stakeholders while exhibiting the core values of the company
  • Good oral and written communication and presentation skills

 

Interfaces & Dependencies:

Internal: Candidate will be interacting with (solid state characterization, Chemical development for API supply (CDAS) and analytical research and development (ARD) groups

 External: Candidate will have occasional interactions with Syngene’ clients working in Material  Science and Engineering as well as discovery and development pharmaceutics.
