Core Purpose of the Role : The In-House Legal Counsel Manager is responsible for providing practical, business-oriented legal advice and support across the organization. This role partners with business leaders and cross-functional teams to manage legal risks, ensure regulatory compliance, support commercial transactions, and protect the company's interests while enabling business growth

 

Role Accountabilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of agreements for bother commercial and non-commercial functions. This includes customer, supplier, service, confidentiality, partnership contracts and others.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and business risks associated with the business to which he/she would be supporting.
  • Support compliance specifically facility related compliances w.r.t Dept. of Factories, KIADB KSFES in Bangalore, Karnataka and similar authorities in Hyderabad, Telangana and Mangalore.
  • Manage disputes, litigations, investigations, and engagements with external legal counsel where required.
  • Develop and deliver legal training and awareness programs for business stakeholders.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and recommend necessary actions to maintain compliance.
  • Help build internal process and system to manage day-to-day legal operations including documentation for both compliance, contracts and litigations.
  • Manage external stakeholders like police, labour  and other statutory authorities.

Specific requirements for this role

 

  • Law degree from a recognized university.
  • 10+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably in-house counsel with specific exposure to statutory compliance and Contract life cycle management in Pharmaceutical field with a mix of law firm and in-house corporate legal experience.
  • Strong expertise in commercial contracts, compliance, and risk management, litigation management.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide practical, solution-oriented legal guidance in a dynamic business environment.
