Job Summary
Facilities Supervisor leads a team of Facility Technicians, Engineers, and Equipment Specialists. Individuals provide supervision and work alongside the teams that execute General Maintenance, Manufacturing Support and Facility Resource Planning groups. Ensures facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are operating in a state of control meeting cGMP requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations within the entire Facility Services group
- Provide direct oversight to the General Maintenance, Manufacturing Support, Metrology, and Facility Resource Planning groups
- Ensures facility and infrastructure systems are maintained in accordance with best industry practices
- Leads schedule planning for Facilities Techs / Equipment specialists
- Completes Quality Systems items within the Facilities department (Deviations, CAPAs, Biennial and routine SOP revisions, Change Controls)
- Assign resources to projects and initiatives
- Leads cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of annual campus Manufacturing Shutdown(s)
- Departmental contact during audits
- Supports various sites capital initiatives by serving as the Subject Matter Expert for Plant Equipment and Systems
- Promotes professional development of staff through on-site and off-site coaching, mentoring, and training
Education & Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in a biopharmaceutical environment with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
- Employment history should show a progressive increase in responsibility
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred
- A working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance technology (vibration, infrared, and ultrasonic analysis, etc.)
- The ability to develop and manage good working relationships with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and inspectors
- SAP (plant maintenance) and Lean/Six Sigma experience are a plus
- Prior cGMP experience is strongly preferred
- Prior experience with SAP preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Project management skills are essential
- Must have the ability to multi-task and coordinate workload by priority.
- Must be customer service and quality driven

Additional requirements for this role:
Candidate should have hands-on experience of Typing/keyboard, visual acuity, good eye/hand coordination, stand, walk, sit, twist/turn, climb, reach outward, reach above shoulder, hand dexterity, bend, squat/kneel, sense of feel, sense of hearing, sense of smell, lift/carry 50 lbs, and pull 50 lbs. Use a phone, fax, copier, and computer. Use hand tools and operate the forklift. Organize/coordinate, analyze/interpret, calibrate precise measurements, solve problems, make decisions, supervise, plan, communicate, prepare written communications, and prepare transaction documents. Drive automatic/standard vehicle. Work outdoors, around noise above conversation level, in hot/cold temperatures, in high humidity, where ventilation is needed, in multiple locations, with restricted access to laboratories, in contact with Select Agents, and with exposure to animals, animal areas, or equipment used in animal areas.
