Job Summary:

Syngene International is seeking a highly accomplished IT manager to assume responsibility for the comprehensive IT operations at our Syngene Bayview facility. This pivotal role encompasses the strategic management and maintenance of the site's IT infrastructure, rigorous adherence to IT regulatory mandates and data integrity protocols, and effective leadership of the local IT team. The successful candidate will possess a robust technical acumen, exceptional leadership and interpersonal capabilities, and a proactive approach to resolving complex IT challenges. This individual will be adept at vendor management, IT project execution, and the seamless alignment of IT services with the distinct business requirements of a pharmaceutical environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, encompassing data centre, servers, storage solutions, and networking equipment, to ensure optimal operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), virtual private networks (VPN), and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the network through diligent monitoring, comprehensive risk assessments, and the consistent application of industry best practices.
  • Lead and mentor the local IT team, facilitating the provision of timely and effective technical support to internal users, and promoting continuous professional development through ongoing training initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with other departments to gain a thorough understanding of their technological requirements and deliver appropriate and impactful IT solutions.
  • Manage the procurement of software and hardware assets, maintain accurate inventory and licensing records, and cultivate productive relationships with external IT vendors and solution partners.
  • Plan and execute IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and the deployment of new IT systems, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce robust IT policies and procedures, and maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant data protection regulations and maintain adherence to stringent cybersecurity standards.
  • Provide expert-level support and advanced troubleshooting for intricate and critical IT issues, minimising disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure that changes to the IT and OT infrastructures align with the site and corporate quality programs and maintain regulatory compliance and validated-state expectations
  • Facilitate and support the integration of laboratory equipment with LIMS to enable automated data capture and workflows.

Technical Experience:

  • Significant hands-on experience with a range of networking technologies, including but not limited to Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and various routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies like VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Proven experience in system administration (Windows and/or Linux).
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Experience with backup and recovery systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of demonstrable experience in IT roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent credentials are highly desirable.
